THE HEIGHTS TAX CREDIT FUND ADVANTAGE

The Heights Tax Credit SGO dba Heights Tax Credit Fund is a scholarship granting organization whose purpose is to provide scholarships for students to attend summer school and tuition-based education programs in the Cleveland Heights-University Heights City School District.

When awarding academic scholarships, the Heights Tax Credit SGO gives priority to those primary and secondary students from low-income households.

Help fund summer school. Contributions are eligible for a nonrefundable tax credit

Every child deserves a high-quality education. Summer school can be an important educational component to help children remain on track. According to the Brookings Institution, on average, students’ achievement scores declined over summer vacation by one month’s worth of school-year learning and declines are more severe for math than reading. Summer learning loss can compound year after year. By the time students reach fifth grade, those significantly affected by summer learning loss may be as much as 2.5 to 3 years behind their peers.

You can help Heights students afford to attend summer school – and you may qualify for a dollar-for-dollar tax credit which can be applied to an individual’s Ohio state income tax liability. For more information, please review our FAQs.

In sum, by donating to the Heights Tax Credit Fund, you may be able to redirect money you already owe in income taxes to fund summer school tuition scholarships for K-12 students in Cleveland Heights-University Heights Public Schools.

TAX ADVANTAGES FOR DONORS

Contributing to our fund not only supports local education but also offers donors significant tax benefits through Ohio's scholarship granting program, making it a win-win for the community.

EMPHASIS ON LOCAL EDUCATION

We focus on the educational needs of our local community, working closely with schools and families to provide tailored support that meets the unique challenges students face.

BUILDING A BRIGHTER FUTURE

By investing in our students today, we are helping to cultivate the leaders of tomorrow who will contribute positively to society and drive change in their communities.

FOSTERING A LOVE FOR LEARNING

At The Heights Tax Credit Fund, our goal is to instill a lifelong love for learning in students, empowering them to pursue their academic and career aspirations with confidence.
